NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (TRUSTEES)Executive officers National Officers ******** National Executive Officers Each year at the National Annual General Meeting (NAGM) the members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) (except the National President and National Secretary) are elected by nominated representatives from the regional branches of the Association. The National President is a Consultant Urologist and is appointed by the NEC. Mr Powell is Consultant Urologist at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne. He has taken over from Mr Clifford Moisey at the NAGM in 2005. He has been President of the Newcastle Upon Tyne Branch for many years.
Hazel Pixley was born in 1967 and has had a urostomy since the age of eight. She trained as a secretary and worked in this field, latterly as secretary to a partner in a firm of solicitors. She met and subsequently married Miles Pixley the Young Persons Adviser (Male) and it was his prompting that involved her in the UA, firstly as a Members Representative, then as Young Person's Adviser (female) and now as National Secretary. She has always loved horses and at one time owned her own horse. Now her hobbies include line dancing, walking and cycling. The National Secretary is the only full time employee of UA, and is the main administrator for the Association. T: 01889 563191 Chairman of the National Executive Committee Angela has had a Urostomy for over 20 years and established the Essex branch soon after joining the Association. She is now Chairman of Essex Branch having previously served as Branch Secretary and also as the National Secretary from 1985 until her retirement in 2002. She has been married for over 40 years and has two sons. She was elected as National Executive Committee Chairman in 2005. Tel: 01245 224267 John was born in 1943 and educated at East Barnet Grammar School. A career with Lloyds Bank followed, spanning 35 years, until he took early retirement in 1995. John is a member of Surrey Branch of UA, and has been active in his present position on the National Executive Committee of the Association, since 1998.

Young Persons Adviser (Male)
Born in 1963, Catherine has been a postal member of the association for several years and has been the Young Person’s Advisor (female) since 2003. Catherine has always lived in Devon . After a job with BT for ten years, she stopped work when her son was born and is currently studying through the Open University. T: 01392 490990 Stoma Care Liaison Officer Eileen is secretary of Newcastle-upon-Tyne branch and works in the NHS in the field of stoma care. Eileen also has a urostomy herself. T: 0191 285 1667
Journal Editor Born in Worcestershire in 1943. After a period as an air stewardess and hotelier, Jenny moved into sales & marketing and became the director of a national company. After serious health problems, she took over the editing of a national industrial magazine, but was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1993 and although she continued with this work until 1997, she retired following her urostomy operation. In 1998 she also had a colostomy formed and shortly after this took over the editorship of the UA Journal. Jenny is now permanently in a wheelchair, but manages her role as Editor and Advertising Manager for UA together with work for the MS Society and local Patients Forum. Born in South Wales in 1945, for most of his business career Don was a manager in the paper and packaging industry. He retired from business in 2004, but is now a part time contributing editor for an international packaging industry magazine. Don is a member of a male voice choir, and together with his wife Toni enjoys cruising the canals of England in their narrowboat. Don has been a supporter of the Association for several years and his wife is a full member and Secretary of Shropshire & Mid Wales Branch. Don joined the NEC at the NAGM in 2005.
